Moving your data
Move your pool customer list out of spreadsheets
Start with a reviewed sample of customers and properties. Tide offers a bounded chat setup for new companies and a separate bulk-import workflow inside the app.
Today’s service
All is good.
Skimmed. Brushed. Balanced.
back-and-forth.
Start with the real problem
You want a shared system, but moving the customer list feels like another project.
Treat migration as several decisions: customer identity, service locations, active status, schedules, balances, and historical records. Successfully moving names and addresses does not mean the entire business has migrated. Decide which system remains authoritative during your pilot.
A practical first step
Build a workflow
your team can trust.
Tide’s in-app bulk import supports spreadsheet uploads, field mapping, and a preview. The documented workflow accepts exports from other service software; supported fields and options must be reviewed for your file.
Keep the original export
Work from a copy. Identify the source columns for customer name, contact details, and each service address. Remove passwords, gate codes, and payment credentials before sharing a file with an assistant.
Test the hard cases first
Review a shared email, a customer with two properties, and an incomplete address. Confirm the assistant’s mapping and compare customer and property counts separately.
Choose the right import path
Chat setup accepts at most 100 customers, 200 properties, and 20 technicians. For a larger list or additional fields, review the in-app bulk-import documentation. Do not split the business into duplicate companies to bypass setup limits.
Plan the cutover
Confirm the pilot records before expanding. Agree when staff should start using the new system, and verify schedules and billing separately so neither service nor charges are duplicated.
Keep the conversation going
A starting point
for your assistant.
Help me plan a move from spreadsheets to Chisel Tide. Review a small sample first and tell me which fields and records cannot be transferred through chat setup.
Chat setup is in preview. Availability depends on your assistant and the Tide connection. You can also create your account on this page when signup is available.
Can I move from Skimmer, PoolBrain, or another service tool?
An exported customer spreadsheet may be usable through Tide’s documented bulk import. Verify the available export and field mapping first. Chat setup is a smaller, separate workflow and is not a complete migration of another product.
What chat setup includes
The assistant reads a file only if its host supports attachments, then prepares structured draft records for review. Chat setup does not transfer historical visits, balances, schedules, payment credentials, or existing-account data.
What to measure in your pilot
Reconcile source and destination counts, spot-check addresses, and maintain a list of records excluded or requiring correction. Complete that review before declaring the migration done.
